Power Line Data Transmission Using OFDM and DS/SS Systems

چکیده

This paper proposes several systems using OFDM and DS/ SS for power line communications and evaluates their BER performances. As for the transmission lines, three kinds of power line models in which several electric apparatus are connected and an LC resonance model with a large degradation at narrow bandwidth are adopted. For the noise model, a peculiar colored noise of power line and a burst noise generated from TV are considered. For the transmission systems, DS/SS, OFDM, MC-DS/SS, MT-SS and MC-SS systems are applied to these transmission lines and noise models. As a result, a stable power line communication can be achieved by the MC-SS system.
